Top PR firms feted at 21st award ceremony

Nairobi 11/12…The Public Relations Society of Kenya recognised and awarded nine firms during the society’s 21st award ceremony, which attracted over 300 guests from the public and private sectors.

Tim Sky Media took the coveted Overall PR Campaign of the Year with its Family Bank Corporate Bond campaign.

Established in 2000, the PRSK Awards for Excellence recognize and celebrate outstanding achievements of public relations and communications practitioners. They reflect the level of competitive services offered in the Kenyan public relations and communications industry.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, PRSK Vice President Patricia Ndede acknowledged the important role Public Relations practitioners have played and continue to play during the coronavirus pandemic. “Our role could never be more cemented and I am proud of each and every one of you for taking leadership and helping your organizations get through these tough times,” she said.

She also noted that more often than not, PR professionals don’t get recognized for the work they do and that was the spirit and letter of the PRSK Awards for Excellence. “We are here to celebrate the hard work you have put in this past year. Not just by giving you a trophy but by honouring the effort you put in behind the scenes; from inception of ideas to execution of successful campaigns, “she noted.

Redhouse Group won the highest number of awards of the night by bagging trophies in the Not For Profit, Media Relations and Consumer Relations categories with its Wildlife Ranger Challenge 2021, Kenya Ports Authority’s Operationalization Of The First Berth At Port Of Lamu And Tanqueray Flor De Sevilla campaigns respectively.

Game Changer Marketing took home the internal communications award while Multichoice Kenya took home the PR Event of the year with its Multichoice Kenya Content Showcase.

The best Social Investment Campaign award went to Apex Porter Novelli with the Birdies For Good Campaign, Apex also scooped the Partnership Engagement Initiative of the year Campaign with its Absa Kip Keino Classic campaign.

The evening also saw Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KENGEN) win the New Media PR Campaign of the Year with the famed KENGEN Energy Champion Digital Campaign, Vivo Energy Kenya win the Public Sector Campaign with the Lookout Tuvuke Salama road safety campaign and Intermanagement Group Kenya bag the Public Affairs campaign award with its Raising the Bar with Tusker Campaign.

Oxygene Marketing Communications Ltd won in the Best Corporate Publication category with the EABL Sustainability Report, Tim Sky Media the Financial Communication Campaign of the Year with Family Bank’s Corporate Bond Campaign and Engage BCW the Covid-19 Awareness Campaign with its #ItsUpToUs campaign.

Alma’s William Dekker was recognized as the Young Communicator of the Year (In house).
