MOMBASA, Kenya Dec 14 – Hotel group, PrideInn Hotels has announced plans to establish more branches in ten counties as part of its effort to grow its footprints in the tourism and hospitality sector.

The hotel, according to Managing Director Hasnain Noorani, is eyeing locations outside Nairobi and Mombasa counties within nature conservation areas in order to establish luxurious hospitality facilities.

“As we seek to grow our presence in the country, we have identified ten counties across Kenya to start a PrideInn brand. This will largely depend on the availability of opportunities in these counties,” Hasnain said without listing the specific regions.

He noted that the decision to expand their branches was largely influenced by the recovery of the tourism sector after the COVID-19 pandemic and he predicted that there was set to be a large boom in the revenue sector.

“Hotel bookings and occupancies are on an upward trajectory this season compared to last year at the same time. This has been attributed to relaxed covid-19 containment measures and continuous covid-19 vaccination programs. The peaceful environment experienced in the country as well as enhanced security has also played a big role,” Hasnain added.

On her part, PrideInn Paradise Beach Resort and Spa General Manager Ann Peggy said that the hotel is expecting both domestic and regional tourist bookings to go up to 99 percent by mid-December this year.

She credited the increased booking patterns to the ongoing COVID-19 vaccination program in the country and the festivity mood that is usually accompanied by families and individuals flocking to hotels to have a well-needed break during the holiday period.
