It’s all systems go as leader Carl “Flash” Tundo takes the Kenya National Rally Championship title fight to defending Champion Baldev Singh Chager.

The duo’s rivalry will headline Sunday’s season-closing Guru Nanak Rally in Il-Bissel.

Tundo tops the log on 166 points and only needs 8 points which can be achievable from a 9th place finish.

Being the second most successful driver in the history of the Sikh Union Club organized round, Tundo is leaving nothing to chance.

He has six Guru Nanak wins between 2009 and 2020 against twelve of legend Ian Duncan.

Chager, on the other hand, has won the Guru Nanak three times between 2004 and 2013 and it will be interesting to see how his battle with Tundo pans out on the last event.

Should Tundo dip to tenth spot whereby he scores 7 points, he will need to rack-up 2 points on the Power Stage to bring his tally to 175.

Tundo has three wins under his belt this season while Chager will go on three should he rule Il-Bissel terrain.

Meanwhile, Skoda Fabia-R5 driver Aakif Virani will start first in Il-Bissel for first time in his rally career.

He will be following by Ford Fiesta-R5’s Karan Patel and Ugandan Amaanraj Rai who has also entered a Skoda Fabia-R5.
Tundo and Chager are starting in fourth and fifth spots respectively.

Aakif is excited about his top seeding which comes at a time when he has sealed the KNRC Division 1 Championship and also his maiden career victory in Nanyuki.

“Starting the season finale first on the road would be a nice closing to the season. It was a pleasant.surprise and also a privilege to start first on Guru Nanak Rally” he said.
