Kenyan musician and a godfather of Genge music, Hubert Nakitare popularly known as Nonini, has said that his music business has been boomy in the States.

In an interview with a local media house, Nonini disclosed that he has been earning ten times more ever since he relocated to the United States.

“Kenya is my home, and I love it, but as I said, I want to take my brand to another level. Personally, life here (in the US) is not bad. I am able to release my music, do shows, and get paid ten times more than what I used to earn in Kenya,” he said.

He noted that he is currently working on a new album which he will release in the course of 2022. According to Nonini, the album features collaborations with big artists in the music scene.

“Fans should expect a lot this coming year…I have major collaborations lined up for this album. I know many people thought that I will fade out from the industry, but I am here to stay,” the musician spoke.

Besides music, Nonini has also invested in a fashion brand, Mgenge2RU. The fashion brand comprises a shoe line with investments of Ksh2 million from the musician.

His shoe line deals in sneakers, made in Italy, that cost over Ksh20,000 and are available only by special order.

“The shoes going for Sh24,000 are real international quality wear. They have been produced and endorsed by one of the best Italian shoe companies,” said the rapper.
