Defence CS Eugene Wamalwa Assures Raila of Presidency: ‘No Gambling’

Defence Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa is convinced beyond doubt that ODM leader Raila Odinga will emerge victorious in the 2022 presidential contest.

Speaking during the Bukhungu II convention in Kakamega, on Friday, December 31, Wamalwa asserted that the former Prime Minister is the best bet for President next year.

“As the Defence CS, I know what I am saying. Raila will carry the day and you should not have any doubts about that,” he said.

He cautioned members of the Luhya community against gambling with their votes, saying that electing any other person will take the Mulembe Nation to the opposition.

Wamalwa added that he does not make political mistakes and that’s why he has been in government and remained relevant for many years.

“My predictions are always right. When I say 2022 is baba’s time, believe me. Everything is aligned so you better prepare yourself for a Raila presidency,” he said.

His sentiments were echoed by Jubilee Secretary-General Raphael Tuju, who claimed that the only thing standing between Raila and the presidency is time.

The Cabinet Secretary without portfolio said everything will be done to make sure the AU High Commissioner of Roads and Infrastructure becomes the Head of State.

“We in Jubilee have decided that Raila must win the presidency in 2022. We know how elections are won, so be assured baba is the next President,” he said.

Former Kwanza MP Noah Wekesa also predicted a Raila victory.

“When you see me supporting Raila, just know he is the next President. All people I have supported since 2002 have never lost,” he said.
