Departed Maseno University Student Laid to Rest, Cause of Death Revealed

Departed Maseno University student, Divinah Mogoi Nyagaka, who died a week ago, has been laid to rest at her rural home in Mwabirundero village, Keroka, Nyamira County.

Divinah, who was a first-year student pursuing an undergraduate degree in Agricultural Education and Extension (AGED), was hale and hearty until the end of the first semester on December 18, 2021, when she proceeded home for the holidays.

According to a eulogy read during her funeral, she later fell ill at home and was rushed to the nearby medical center, where she breathed her last minutes after arrival.

“The late enjoyed good health until when she started feeling unwell at the course of the holiday and was rushed to Nyanchwa SDA Hospital, where she was pronounced dead before even she was diagnosed. Later, the autopsy revealed that she succumbed to heart failure due to acute anemia.” The eulogy read in part.

She was rhapsodized as a staunch Christian, who regularly attended church service at Pentecostal Assemblies of God (PAG) church and a philomath who diligently worked smart to secure a position at the prestigious Maseno University.

“She was a God-loving child. She was a dedicated youth in Geteri PAG church and Nakuru (Kapkuresi PAG Church). She served God and even was a member of Christian Union (CU) in the university until her death.”

Divinah was the second born in a family of two. She passed away at the age of 21.
