The Kenya Basketball Federation has released a list of 20 players who are expected to report to camp in preparation for the World Cup qualifiers scheduled for this February.
The Morans will be under the stewardship of legendary coach Cliff Owuor who is returning after a year’s hiatus.
According to Kenya Basketball Federation Secretary-General Ambrose Kisoi,Liz Mills had not signed any contract with Morans and she was just appointed to assist the team through the AfroBasket journey alone.
“KBF brought in Liz Mills to only assist the team and not tied down to a contract. She requested us to let her assist Morans as we sorted out our issues after Owuor found a job in Rwanda. Today, Owuor is back, now she has to leave,” said Kisoi.
The Australian coach who has been a revelation since joining the Kenyan technical bench in February last year parted ways with the team to be replaced by the APR tactician who was reappointed to the position on Sunday

The team landed group D where they play Senegal, Egypt and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in the FIBA World Cup African qualifiers scheduled for next month.
FIBA Basketball World Cup is set to take place next year in Indonesia, Japan and the Philippines. The 2023 edition of the FIBA Basketball World Cup marks the first time multiple countries will host this event.
It had been 27 years since Kenya participated at the continental level when Mills appeared to be what the doctor recommended for the underachieving national team.
She earned her place in continental basketball history as the first woman to steer a men’s team to the championships.
