In the last two days, Kenyans have been opening up about toxic work environments, especially in the media industry.

Several former media personalities have taken to social media to reveal why they called it quits.

Former Hot 96 FM presenter regular panelist on Citizen TV, Annitah Raey has disclosed that she resigned over bullying by her female boss.

She claimed that her senior demeaned with insults and treated her with contempt until she could not take it anymore.

“Don’t play with media women. I was told, ‘do you know my position? I decided I was not there to complete and resigned because I was tried crying in the studio. I know you are reading this and your day will come; God is not human,” she said.

She also revealed that a senior Citizen TV female news anchor also despised her.

“I once said hello to a Citizen TV news presenter and she looked at me from head to toe, clicked, and walked away. Months later she was told to host in her (relationship talk) show.”

Raey added that a good number of female bosses in media houses are toxic while male bosses demand sex from ladies to make them immune to sacking.

“Let’s talk sexual bullying at work. Let’s talk about men getting harassed by women in media, yes men get harassed a whole lot. Let’s talk about sexual promotions and bedroom-created opportunities. Why are we pretending we don’t know?

“These media women in heels and cliques are something. I have been insulted and told I am a nobody because I did not have a godfather. I just decided sanity and peace of mind are more important than a name or a title,” she wrote.
