Ndegwa Wahome says he is the suitable candidate for Nyandarua gubernatorial position

Speaker of the country assembly of Nyandarua county Ndegwa Wahome has remained buoyant that 2022 gubernatorial race in Nyandarua county is his to lose in the General Elections set for August this year.

Wahome who is also the President of County Assemblies Forum [CAF] said having been involved with issues pertaining devolution over the last few years,he understands his expected role if elected the area governor during the upcoming polls.

My work has revolved around devolution and I understand what’s ailing the sector especially in my own county Nyandarua. I will be seeking to provide effective leadership geared towards delivering quality services to the people. We strive to attain and maintain the highest quality standards in our operations and services to the great people of county 019 ” noted Wahome.

The lawyer by profession has further called upon area locals who are eligible for voting to take advantage of the ongoing last voter registration exercise to register to enable them participate in the August 8 patriotic duty.

“Our single most patriotic duty is to have a voters card. I ask the youth to vote for right leaders, right politics and the right county government leaders that will address their needs and aspirations. It is you to decide, and you cannot decide without a voters card. Register as a voter now!,” added Wahome.

The incumbent county boss and former Secretary to the Cabinet Francis Kimemia is expected to defend his seat in the race that has also attracted other candidates among them water cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki.

Leadership in the county has been marred by a myriad of problems ranging from suspension of MCAs by the ruling Jubilee party for alleged misconduct, attempted theft of the mace at the assembly, sacking of county assembly workers and the members of the County Assembly Public Service Board to the impeachment crisis surrounding Wahome.

Wahome is also the Deputy President of East African County and Local Governments Association(EACLGA)Formerly EALGA.
