Uhuru mourns Uganda’s Central Bank boss Mutebile

President Uhuru Kenyatta has condoled with his Ugandan counterpart Yoweri Museveni, the Government and Ugandans following the death of the country’s Central Bank Governor Emmanuel Tumusiime-Mutebile.

Prof Tumusiime-Mutebile, 72, passed away on Sunday morning at a Nairobi hospital following a long illness.

In his message of comfort, President Kenyatta eulogised the departed Tumusiime-Mutebile as a reformer whose tenure at the helm of the Bank of Uganda ensured his country’s and the region’s economic stability and progress.

Mutebile has been at the helm of Bank of Uganda since 2001. He has been central in crafting economic policies and implementing them.
