Late last year, controversial blogger Robert Alai was charged before Kibera senior principal magistrate Phillip Mutua with causing grievous bodily harm to gospel artist Ringtone Apoko.
Ringtone accused the Alai of hitting him with a wooden club and damaging his Range Rover windscreen, valued at Sh416,000, but the blogger denied the accusation and was released on Ksh300,000 bail pending the hearing of the case.
Today, Ringtone says that he is yet to recover from the injuries, and he always faints.
“Alai has never apologised to me, he has never said sorry for hitting me with a Rungu. I am not yet healed inside…in the brain. I am only healed outside. Sometimes, I faint in the house. One day if I faint in public, people might say I am clout chasing,” Ringtone said.
When asked whether he has sought specialised treatment, Ringtone says that he went to South Africa, but doctors told him that the only approach to do away with the fainting problem was to operate him in the head.
“Doctors said they have to operate my head…you see I can die and also I can not walk with stitches on my head from back to front. I decided to let God heal me slowly.”
Ringtone was allegedly hit by Alai along University Way after he alighted and started distributing money to random pedestrians.
The act reportedly caused traffic snarl-up along Dennis Pritt and Likoni roads, and Alai was raged as he was among the road users and said that Ringtone had blocked his car.
