Kenya has signed a deal for the Safari Rally to remain on the World Rally Championship WRC until 2026.

The deal was signed on Sunday, 23rd January at the Automobile Club of Monaco between Kenya’s Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed and WRC Promoter GmbH Managing Director Jona Siebel.

The CS also signed several partnerships with the WRC revolving around talent development and environmental conservation.

The 2022 WRC Safari Rally will be held in Naivasha from 23rd to 26th June.

Last year Kenya made its return to the WRC circuit after a 20 year absence. The Kenyan leg of the series held in Naivasha for four days between 24th and 27th June 2021.

The event marked the sixty-eighth running of the Safari Rally. It was the sixth round of the 2021 World Rally Championship, World Rally Championship-2 and World Rally Championship-3.
