Otile Brown is the first Kenyan to surpass 1,000,000 YouTube subscribers.

Otile Brown has been awarded a golden YouTube plaque award to congratulate him on his YouTube subscriptions. The YouTube Creator Awards, commonly known as YouTube Play Buttons or YouTube Plaques, are a series of awards from YouTube that aim to recognize the most popular channels.
Otile is the first Kenyan creator to surpass 1,000,000 subscribers on the YouTube. The Dusuma hit-maker now has 1.06 million subscribers and 260,901,100 views, having joined the platform on 20th April 2016. He is now followed closely by Bahati who has 919,000 subscribers and over 155,457,469 views.
“Look at what y’all did ..y’all are some amazing human beings 🔥 thank you for the 1million YouTube subs”, Otile remarked on Instagram. This feat comes less than four months after the R&B singer had his greatest hits mysteriously deleted from YouTube. The songs ‘Dusuma’, ‘Chaguo La Moyo’, ‘Baby Love,’ ‘Hi’, ‘Watoto Na Pombe’, ‘In Love’, ‘Samantha’, ‘Aiyana’, ‘Crush’, ‘Regina’, ‘Ndagukunda’, and ‘Jamila’ suddenly disappeared from the platform in a move that seemed malicious. Luckily, his channel was restored and has grown even more.
