The Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) have raised concern over inadequate capacity by teaching staff in learning institutions with Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) ahead of hosting of grade 7s and 8s students.

Speaking to the media after attending a closed-door meeting at Narok hotel, National and Narok County officials led by the Secretary General Akello Misori emphasized on the need by Education CS Prof. George Magoha to prioritize teachers’ training.

He added that it was prudent to also consider the availability of infrastructure for CBC in the secondary schools ahead of next year’s admissions.

Misori who echoed the idea of on-line learning regretted that serious challenges like connectivity for learners in some parts of the country must be put into consideration.

His sentiments were echoed by Julius Korir the National Deputy Chairman KUPPET who emphasized the need for training on secondary school teachers on CBC as a matter of urgency for better execution.

Present during the brief were a section of both National and Narok County branch officials.
