93 test positive, 11 succumb to Covid-19

93 people have tested positive for Covid-19, from a sample size of 6,859 tested in the last 24 hours bringing total confirmed  positive cases to 321,764.

The positivity rate is now at 1.4% with cumulative tests so far conducted being 3,240,690.

From the cases, 71 are Kenyans while 22 are  foreigners with 48 being females and 45 males.

The youngest is an 11-year-old child while the oldest is 98 years.

101 patients have recovered from the disease, 93 are from  the Home-Based Isolation and Care program while 8 are from  various health facilities countrywide.

Total recoveries now stand at  295,534 of whom 242,984 are from the Home-Based Care and  Isolation program, while 52,550 are from various health facilities  countrywide.

Sadly, 11 patients have succumbed to the disease, one of them in  the last 24 hours while the other 10 are late deaths reported after conducting facility record audits in the months of January, April and  September 2021, and January and February 2022. This  pushes the cumulative fatalities to 5,604.

A total of 360 patients are currently admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 4,057 are under the Home-Based  Isolation and Care program.

Nine patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and all of them are on ventilatory support.

Another 70 patients are on supplemental oxygen, 68 of them are in the general  wards while two patients are in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).

Vaccination 

A total of 12,885,157 vaccines have been administered across the country. Of these, 6,701,658 are partially vaccinated while those fully vaccinated are 5,883,019.

Another 131,140 are doses administered to those between 15 to  17 years while 169,340 are booster doses.

The total number of vaccines administered in the last 24 hours is  232,166 while the total number of people fully vaccinated in the  last 24 hours is 129,295.

The uptake of the second dose among  those who received their first dose was at 63.5%. Proportion of  adults fully vaccinated was 21.6%.

The Government is working  towards vaccinating a targeted population of 27,246,033.
