The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced the closure of Kiambu and Muthaiga Roads for a period of two days.

In a notice dated Tuesday, 8th February, 2022, KeNHA announced that the Muthaiga- Kiambu road would be closed from 6:00 am on Saturday 12th to 4:00 am on Monday, 14 February.

The closure will pave way for construction works at a footbridge along the busy road.

“This is due to the ongoing construction of a footbridge at Km 0+500. All vehicles are requested to use alternative routes,” read part of KeNHA’s statement.

KeNHA advised motorists plying that route to use alternative routes. The routes to which traffic would be channeled due to the closure include the Thika Super Highway, Serengeti Avenue, Mau Park road, Pipeline estate road among others.

Other roads open to motorists include Coffee Garden Dr Road, Ridgeways, and other passable routes within the area.

“All motorists plying the road under construction are advised to exercise caution and observe the traffic controls. We highly regret any inconveniences caused,” KeNHA stated.

The Authority also apologised to the public for any inconveniences the closure will cause.
