Diamond Platnumz, the Tanzanian musician, has been called out for featuring Confederate flags in his latest song video titled Gidi.
As per a report on BBC, the confederate flag was designed in South Carolina in the US after it declared that it was going to be its own nation leading to a civil war in the 1860s.
First raised in 1962 as defiance against civil rights and a white supremacist response that intimidated black people, the flag is seen as divisive and a symbol of slavery and racism.
Kenyans on Twitter had this to say in regards to the use of the flags. https://twitter.com/ItsMutai/status/1496052452088553472?s=20&t=RxMz3f84ci9kPD3skvhLcg
Be it as it may, the video released three days ago has scooped 1.7 million views so far.
