The move by the Academy comes days after Ye was banned from Instagram for 24 hours.

Kanye West has been pulled from performing at this year’s Grammys due to “concerning online behaviour,” as reported by multiple news outlets.

The decision comes days after West, who now goes by Ye, was temporarily banned from Instagram after using a racial slur directed at South African and The Daily Show host Trevor Noah. West violated the platform’s policies on hate speech, bullying and harassment, according to Meta and was restricted from posting, commenting and other actions for 24 hours. Kanye’s post had been in response to Trevor Noah’s comments on West’s harassment of Kim Kardashian since the couple’s divorce.

The Grammys, due to take place on April 3rd, will be hosted by Trevor, however, according to CNN, Noah had nothing to do with West’s performance being cancelled.

West is nominated for five Grammys this year, including album of the year for his album Donda. West has not responded publicly and it remains unclear if he plans to attend the ceremony.
