ODM announces new dates for party primaries

The Orange Democratic Movement party has announced dates for nominations of various seats ahead of the 2022 General Elections.

The party which has already settled on Raila Odinga as the presidential flag bearer will hold its party primaries from 1st -21st April according to National Elections Board Chairperson Catherine Mumma.

Mumma said that the nomination exercise shall proceed as scheduled in 21 Counties except for three counties; Kajiado, Narok and Migori whose new dates shall be announced later.

“The nomination exercise shall go on in the Counties listed in the notice below save for Kajiado, Narok and Migori whose new dates shall be announced in due course,” said Catherine Mumma.

“Dates for the nomination exercise in Kajiado, Narok and Migori counties will be announced afresh. This is because we had scheduled the exercise on a Saturday which is Sabbath day for some of our members from those Counties,” she added.

She said the ODM party will also issue direct nomination certificates to single candidates in every electoral area, those who appear popular as per the opinion polls conducted by the party and those who will have been agreed on after the process of consensus.

The scheduled party primaries announced by ODM from 1st-21st April.
