Gospel music lovers in Nigeria and Africa at large are mourning following the death of celebrated Nigerian star Osinachi Nwachukwu. She was 42.

News outlets in Nigeria report that she died on Friday evening while receiving treatment in a hospital in country capital city, Abuja.

However, family, friends and associates have remained mum following passing away of the gospel singer.

What is, however, in the public is that she had been in the hospital for at least two months before she breathed her last. She was on life support machine.

The ailment has not been disclosed.

Some sources in Nigeria indicate that she was in an abusive marriage, a claim that could not be verified.

She is survived by a husband and four children.

Osinachi was thrust into the limelight in 2017 after releasing “Ekwueme” hit song, which she sang alongside Prospa Ochimana.

She was also a lead vocalist at the Dunamis International Gospel Center.

Though she was an Igbo singer, her music was touched and blessed millions of people across the world.

May her soul rest in peace.
