Deputy President William Ruto has called on Members Parliament to reject the Finance Bill that will fund the 2022-2023 budget.
Speaking in Kiambu County, the United Democratic Alliance Presidential candidate said the budget that was read last week by Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yattani would raise the cost of living.
Deputy President William Ruto led the Kenya Kwanza brigade to campaign in Kiambaa, Limuru and Kikuyu constituencies where he urged the Members of Parliament to reject the finance bill that will actualize the 2022-2023 budget.
Legislators accompanying the Deputy President vowed to shoot down the finance bill once tabled in National Assembly.
The DP said that their agenda was mainly focused in the creation of economic opportunities for the millions of Kenyans who struggle everyday to put food on the table.
“Kenya Kwanza will uplift them and ensure they have a decent living,” he said.
He added that if elected his administration will pursue policies that directly target the underprivileged.
According to the Deputy President, Kenya Kwanza will also fund small enterprises and put Government money in projects that will create thousands of jobs for our youth.
“These interventions will uplift the masses and ensure that wananchi have money in their pockets,” he noted.
Meanwhile, a section of Democratic Party officials have lodged an objection at the office of Registrar of Political Parties against coalition agreement signed on Saturday between party leader Justin Muturi and Kenya Kwanza Alliance.
