Caleb Kositany Nyumbani: DP Ruto De Facto Spokesman Voted Out in UDA Primaries

At the height of the bitter fallout between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto, Soy MP Caleb Kositany positioned himself as the de facto spokesperson of the later, something that raised his profile.

However, it seems that was not enough to convince residents of Uasin Gishu County, where the DP hauls from, to vote him as Jackson Mandago’s replacement.

Results from yesterday’s UDA nominations are not favouring the lawmaker.

Tallied votes so far hint that Jonathan Bii alias Chelilim is the people’s choice.

Chelilim, famous for his “Koti Moja (one coat)” slogan, is projected to win, by a lot.

Interestingly, he is closely followed by Julius Bitok while Kositany comes a distant third.

Nine aspirants were eyeing the UDA ticket.

In the neighbouring Kericho County, residents have also executed a coup on former Energy Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter.

Little Known Dr Eric Mutai is poised to win the UDA ticket. At one point, locals had to raise money to help Mutai compete with Keter, who is a multi-millionaire.
