Machakos Governor Aspirant Nzioka Waita has reiterated his commitment to transformative leadership that will see the County ranked best in the country if elected in the August 9 general election.

Waita stepped up his campaigns in Ikombe, Yatta Sub-County on Thursday accompanied by his running mate Florence Mwangangi where the duo promised to solve water scarcity within the first 90 days in office.

“Machakos County receives a budget allocation of Ksh 11B every financial year but still lacks basic amenities such as water scarcity, inadequate access to health services and poor state of roads. When will the marginalization of our people end?” he paused

“We will put up Masinga-Yatta-Mwala water pipeline to ensure every village has adequate water supply,” he said

Waita further promised to build the Matuu-Ikombe road that will connect Kithimani and Katangi.

Waita, who previously served as the State House Chief of Staff dared his competitors in the Governor race to make public their development track record.

He took pride in spear heading the delivery of mega development projects in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government saying the experience puts him at a better place become the next Machakos Governor.

Waita called upon the electorate to elect development conscious leaders who will purpose to spur the County’s economic growth.

The Machakos gubernatorial race has narrowed into a two-horse race between Waita, who is also the Chama Cha Uzalendo (CCU) party leader and former Transport CAS Wavinya Ndeti who bagged Wiper Party ticket through a direct nomination.

Other contestants include Deputy Governor Francis Maliti and  UDA’s Johnson Muthama.
