He says the last president was full of great wisdom and humor that bonded well especially with ordinary mwanachi during his political life.

“I was lucky, I met the former President while I was in Othaya High School and at that time, he served as Kenya’s Vice President under the former President Daniel Arap Moi. As a man of few words according to legislator, his words meant something and any interaction with him was going to have an impact to those he served.

” One had to conceptualize his words that were full of great wisdom and accompanied with humor as his style of delivering a serious message,” he said.

“He used to say for example, Kama unataka tu fanye hiyo, basi, hiyo tutafanya tu, hatuwezi ogopa kufanya jambo la kusaidia wananchi,” added Mugambi.

He also kept reminding especially the regional leaders from Mt. Kenya that he was the President of Kenya and thus can’t be expected to serve only people of Othaya or Central Kenya in most cases, challenging them to serve the masses and helping the needy especially uplifting the education standards.

The legislator is urging Kenyans and especially the leaders to reflect the words of the late President Kibaki by conducting a peaceful elections coming up in few months’ time.

” Leadership is a chance to serve and so, he urged the leaders to avoid insults and always utter words of unity as way of honoring him even in death.” observed Mugambi.
