Deputy President William Ruto has fired back at his boss, President Uhuru Kenyatta after the latter unleashed a series of attacks on his principal assistant.

In his Labour Day speech this afternoon in Nairobi, the President railed his deputy for absconding duty.

He said the DP has become a cry baby instead of providing solutions to tackle the numerous challenges that continue to bedevil the country.

The Head of State maintained that the current economic stresses have been triggered by outside forces he has no control over.

The first in command accused his deputy of sabotaging government’s efforts to make the economy steady.

“Your work is just shouting how the government has failed and yet you are not telling us what we should do. If you are not happy, why haven’t you resigned? I need someone who can help not an enemy within the government.

“I know cost of living has gone up, but I can do little. First, we had Covid-19 and just when were trying to revive the economy, Russia’s invasion on Ukraine happened,” he said.

He lauded ODM leader Raila Odinga for helping him implement his agenda.

Dr Ruto, in a social media post seen by Litkenya.com trolled his boss, saying he should carry his own cross and stop dragging him in the mess done by the Jubilee administration.

He insisted that the President drove him away from the government and not the other way round.

“SORRY my Boss.I FEEL your pain. Those you ASSIGNED my RESPONSIBILITIES & ‘project’ mzee (Raila Odinga) have let you DOWN miserably. They bangled our BIG 4, killed our party & wasted your 2ND term. Wao ni bure kabisa (they are useless). Boss, am AVAILABLE. Just a PHONE call away. Sadly last CABINET was 2 years ago,” he wrote.
