On Tuesday, May 3, nominated Member of Parliament David Ole Sankok wept as he mourned the death of his son, who took his life by shooting himself in the head at their Ewaso Ngiro farm, Narok County.
Sankok, who made his first public appearance since his son’s death, was seen weeping uncontrollably with his head buried in his hands.

The politician, who appeared relieved, was greeted by family and friends from both sides of the political aisle who came to express their condolences to the vocal lawmaker and his immediate family.
Sankok’s son was pronounced dead by police officers who responded to the family’s call for help. When cops arrived on the scene, they discovered that the teen had shot himself in the chin with a shotgun and died instantly.
According to preliminary investigations, the and his son had a verbal altercation a few hours before he was discovered dead. According to family members, the quarrel stemmed from the teen’s refusal to return to school.
