Mathira MP Gachagua Loses Elder Brother

Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua is mourning the death of his eldest brother, James Reriani Gachagua.

The sad news was confirmed by Gachagua who noted that his brother died after battling an illness for a long time.

He, however, did not disclose the illness his brother was suffering from.

“We thank God for the life of our eldest brother and the head of the greater Gachagua family, James Reriani Gachagua who has gone to be with the Lord after a long illness bravely borne,” tweeted Gachagua.

“We give glory to the Lord for the 78 years he lived and hold his immediate family in prayer as we embark on arrangements to lay him to rest. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”

According to reports, the late Reriani was the stepbrother to Mathira MP Hon Rigathi Gachagua. He was also a brother to the first Nyeri governor, the late Nderitu Gachagua who died on 24th February 2017 at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London while undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer.

Following his demise, Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga was among the first people to condole with Gachagua’s family.

“I condoled with the family and friends of the late James Reriani Gachagua at his Hiriga home in Mathira West,” Governor Kahiga said in a tweet.

Kahiga eulogised Reriani as a telecommunications engineer who was a hard working, generous, and kind man.
