Kenyan nurse Anna Qabale Duba based in Marsabit county has been named winner of the first-ever Aster Guardian nursing award.
The event held in Dubai saw Duba beat 9 other finalists who were amongst 24000 nominees all seeking to win the global award.
With the award came a prestigious amount of Sh25 million to honour her contribution as a nurse to humanity.
Donned in traditional wear from head to toe, Duba received her award from the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority Chairman and Executive Chief of Emirates Airline Sheik Ahmed Saeed Al Maktoum.
Her victory came after a powerful appeal to the eminent grand jury for selflessly devoting her life to helping needy girls in Marsabit county.
