Kithure Kindiki Breaks Breaks After He Misses Running Mate Post in Ruto’s Camp

Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki has broken his silence following the nomination of Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua as Deputy President William Ruto’s running mate in the lead up to the August presidential election.

Prof Kindiki said he will issue a detailed statement on Monday.

“I will be eternally grateful to everyone who helped me get elected as the UDA and Kenya Kwanza Alliance deputy presidential candidate for the August 9, 2022 elections,” he said.

The lawmaker was not present when Gachagua was declared Ruto’s number two.

While unveiling Gachagua as his running mate, Dr Ruto heaped praises to Kindiki for the role he has played in the Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

A majority of Mt Kenya MPs reportedly wanted the senator to deputise Dr Ruto.

However, Gachagua stood his ground, insisting that he position was his.
