Just a Band announce comeback after long hiatus

“The four of us are back at work,” – Just A Band.

The popular Kenyan band Just A Band has officially announced the end of the band’s hiatus. The foursome announced the news on Monday on their official handle while sharing a short abstract video.

Just a Band is a Kenyan house/funk/disco band who began their career in 2008 with the launch of their debut album, Scratch to Reveal.

In the statement released on their social media handles, the band said, “…the hiatus is officially over and the four of us are back at work as Just A Band…We each went out into the world and had a bunch of adventures, and we needed time to catch up on one another as humans and friends…”

The band made up originally of Blinky Bill, Dan Muli, Jim Chuchu, Mbithi Masya,  explored various musical directions such as jazz, hip-hop, disco, and electronica during their time as a band until their hiatus. Separately, the four have continued to explore their own avenues of creativity in their time apart.

Expressing their gratitude to their steadfast fans the band said, “It has been really inspiring and heartwarming to learn that our work as a band was meaningful to folk out there.”

Dates for new songs will be announced.
