President Uhuru Kenyatta undertook a successful visit to Bern, Switzerland on 19th and 20th May 2022, on an invitation for an Official Visit by his counterpart, H.E. Ignazio Cassis, who is both President and Foreign Minister of Switzerland.
During his visit, the President commissioned the Kenya Embassy Chancery which was established in April 2020.
He highlighted the role that the Embassy was expected to play in promoting trade and tourism between the two countries, as well as the continuation of strengthening of relations in various spheres between the two countries.
The Head of State met the Swiss President in the evening during which he was hosted for an Official Working Dinner. Prior to the Dinner, the two countries signed two instruments to strengthen cooperation in various sectors.
In the Official Working Dinner, the two leaders exchanged views on a range of bilateral and multilateral issues
The President left Bern for Geneva on 21st May 2022, where he was scheduled to commission the new Chancery of the Permanent Mission of Kenya to the United Nations and to address the World Health Assembly on 22nd May 2022.
