SGA Security, a leading private security firm in the East African region has been awarded operational license by Private Security Regulatory Authority (PSRA), becoming the first tier 1 private security firm to acquire such certification in compliance with the government regulation.
The acquisition of the license is in line with the Private Security Regulations Act which directs every private security agency to obtain a mandatory PSRA licence in order to operate in Kenya. Private Security Regulatory Authority (PRSA) was directed to vet and clear all private security firms in pursuant to the Private Security Regulations Act 2016.
Speaking during the official handover of the PSRA license, PSRA Director General Fazul Mahamed congratulated SGA for the immense milestone, a reflection of the continued performance in provision of a broad range of security services that contribute to the safety of clients’ homes and businesses.

“SGA Kenya Limited is commended for being a private security provider with a good standing, through compliance in line with the private security legislation. The five-year PSRA license is a certification for registration, a confirmation of SGA’s dedication to continue revolutionizing the security sector by offering practical solutions, professionalism and efficiency” Mr Fazul said.
While receiving the PSRA license, SGA Group CEO and Chairman Julius Delahaije thanked PSRA for its leadership to spearhead a regulatory structure through the mandatory license that will ensure that private security firms are operated in accordance with the set principles.

SGA Security is the first Tier 1 security company to receive the licence in Kenya.
Delahaije was accompanied by the Group Deputy Chairman Jeremy Van Tongeren, Country Manager SGA Kenya Lucas Ndolo and Group Commercial Manager Jackson Mbuthia.
Recently, SGA celebrated another milestone as it attained the prestigious International Standards Organization (ISO) 18788:2015 certification from Intertek – the highest standard for any security firm in Kenya and the region, in recognition of its conduct and compliance of risk management capacity to meet the professional requirements of clients and other stakeholders in the Security Operations Management System (SOMS).
