A Nairobi-based Churchill Live Show comedian, Akuku Danger, today 17th July, had a near-death experience after his apartment caught fire. Akuku said his house went up in flames at around 1am. He was saved by his security team’s quick response.

Speaking in an interview, the thespian explained that he was woken up by smoke that had filled his living room. Akuku, who wasn’t sure about what could have caused the inferno, said it might have been an electrical fact.

He said: “I woke up at 1.30am and found my living room on fire. There was a lot of smoke and I could not leave the house. I called security and they quickly came to my house and put out the fire. I suspect it was caused by an electrical fault. I am glad I survived the ordeal, even though I lost some of my electronics. The most important thing is that I am alive. I will go to the hospital for a checkup because I inhaled quite a bit of smoke before I managed to get out of the house.”

Socialite Vera Sidika, on learning of Akuku Danger’s predicament, said that she wouldn’t wish evil on anyone since. The two had been at loggerheads with Akuku claiming that he was not paid Ksh5,000 for the hire of sound equipment during Vera’s recent gender-reveal party in the leafy suburb of Nairobi.  It’s a claim the businesswoman dismissed as untrue.
