Maragwa MP Mary Wamaua cleared out of Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi after she was allegedly harassed.
In a rant that is circulating on social media, the lawmaker, who is allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta claimed that she was roughed up by security men.
She said they pushed him in a rough manner when she was making her entry yet she an MP, who had been officially invited.
Wamaua said the incident made her drop her support for ODM leader Raila Odinga’s presidential bid.
“Why are you pushing me? I’m seriously concerned what will happen if you people make it to State House,” she angrily said as she walked out.
Deputy President William Ruto’s allies has milked the ugly incident to advance their agenda against the former Prime Minister.
Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua claimed that the alleged harassment showed Raila and his men hate Mt Kenya people.
“I am sorry, my sister Hon. Mary Wamaua.
I am surprised that you are wondering how these ODM guys will behave if they ever got to the State House.
“Hon. Junet Mohammed told us, in broad daylight, that a Raila Government will be for the people of Nyanza and the rest of us will be visitors. The humiliation you have suffered under the hands of ODM goons serves you right,” he said.
However, supporters of Raila alleged that the episode was stage managed for malice.
They noted that the parliamentarian has been warming to the Tangatanga side in recent past.
Two weeks ago, she hosted the second in command at her constituency, but did not reveal whether she had switched camps.
