Another night in cell for 2 suspects in Kevin Omwenga killing

Two suspects in the killing of a man at Galana Suites in Kilimani, Nairobi, will remain in police custody until Tuesday, when a court will rule on whether they should be detained further as police investigate the incident.

Mr Robert Bodo Ouko, and  Mr Chris Obure appeared at the Kibera Law Courts on Monday morning.

The prosecution sought to have them detained for 14 days to enable police to complete the probe.

Mr Ouko, who is suspected to have pulled the trigger that killed Kelvin Omwenga, 28, had earlier told detectives that the bullet that killed the man was fired as the two fought over the gun.

Police are also investigating a gold scam link to the fatal shooting.
