A number of armed goons stormed Ford-Kenya offices in Nairobi on Sunday, July 12, hurling stones at the building amid a tussle over the party’s leadership.

A contact from the office confirmed to Kenyans.co.ke that the incident occurred but could not divulge any more details explaining that he was out of the county.

“I am outside Nairobi and I would have to ascertain what happened. I am just part of a secretariat and not a member so I would have to check with the party members,” he answered regarding the action the party leadership was contemplating,.

In a video shared by the Daily Nation, the youth are seen hurling stones into the building located along Ole Dume Road in Nairobi.

A guard is seen watching helplessly as the vandalism happened.

It started at around 10 a.m. as the goons tried to access the office but were repulsed by security officers.

After being denied access, they resulted in hurling stones into the building. Luckily, no one was hurt.

In recent months, Ford Kenya has experienced a rift in its leadership with a faction supporting its leader Moses Wetangula falling out with another rooting for Kanduyi MP Athanas Wamunyinyi.

Wamunyinyi’s faction had earlier on accused Wetangula of threatening and intimidating members who signed to out Wetangula. They also alleged that Wetangula was forcing the members to refute their signatures used to oust him.

Wetangula was further accused of threatening Ford-Kenya members opposing him with de-whippings from National Assembly committees and overseeing their recall.

Below is a video of the incident:
