Aspirants align themselves ahead of 2022

Starehe MP Charles Njagua has joined the United Democratic Party as politicians align themselves ahead of the 2022 general elections.

Njagua was welcomed to the party by Deputy President William Ruto signaling the end of his relationship with Jubilee Party.

He is now expected to seek re-election on the UDA ticket should he win the party primaries.

Njagua is the latest Legislator to join UDA following the high profile move by Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru as well as Laikipia Woman Representative Cate Waruguru.

Indeed it’s the season of political transfer, politicians must align themselves with preferred political parties that are likely to propel them to the positions they are seeking.

The party associated with DP Ruto Recently has been the biggest beneficiary.

Recently DP Ruto met veteran Radio presenter Njogu Wa Njoroge who has also expressed interest in politics.

Sometimes back he had hosted aspirants from Kiambu and Murang’a counties among them Mrs Ann Muratha who wants to be the next Kiambu Women Representative, Esther Gathogo who is seeking to recapture the Ruiru Parliamentary seat,  Njenga Murugami who is seeking to be Limuru MP), Anthony Maina Wa Maii from Mathioya as well as Peter Kihungi from Kangema.

On the same breath, some have ditched UDA citing betray, the most prominent being Kirinyaga Woman Rep Wangui Ngirici who ended her relationship with the party after Ruto welcomed Governor Waiguru to the party.
