Azimio running mate selection panel settles on Karua, Kenneth and Kalonzo

Narc Kenya Party Leader Martha Karua, former MP Peter Kenneth and Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka are the front runners for Raila Odinga’s running mate position.

The Azimio running mate selection panel has settled on the 3 after conducting interviews and will hand over the names to Raila on Thursday 12th May.

Others who were interviewed include Agriculture CS Peter Munya, Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyajui, Muranga County Woman Rep Sabina Chege and former Kenyan Ambassador to Australia Stephen Tarus.

The panel was set to hand over the names on Wednesday but postponed the exercise at the last minute since Raila was out of town.

Committee chairperson Dr Noah Wekesa said Raila will be available to receive the names on Thursday.

Presidential aspirants have until Monday the 16th to name their running mates for the August 9th election.
