The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) was left with a big egg on the face after a poll it had sponsored showed that ODM leader Raila Odinga was ahead of the pack in the 2022 presidential race.

The wheelbarrow outfit asked its followers on Twitter to pick their preferred presidential choice between Deputy President William Ruto, the de facto party leader, and the former Prime Minister.

Raila’s supporters were asked to like the tweet while those of the second in command were requested to retweet.

“Who do you think has better plans for Kenya?” the question read.
At the beginning of the poll, all indications showed that the DP was winning.

Many hours later, however, the opposition leader had carried the day in a big way.

At the time of publishing this article, Raila was leading with 12.9 votes against the DP’s 3,364 votes.

Supporters of the former Premier took to various social media platforms to proudly share the results of the poll with mocking messages.

Popular city lawyer Donald B Kipkorir said the unscientific poll cleared showed that the AU Special Envoy was the man to beat in next year’s State House race.

“When best laid plans go awry. UDA invited us to show their support by retweeting for UDA leader or like for ODM leader… their results in UDA’s servers speak for themselves,” he wrote.

Zion Pearl said: “How are you guys losing on your own poll? You should pay your bloggers to save you from humiliation.”

Many UDA diehards were not happy and wondered the admin gave Raila the likes and retweets for Ruto. They argued that likes are easy.
