Trouble is brewing at Jamii Co-operative Savings and Credit Society as a section of the board of directors want an internal audit carried out among themselves and senior managers of the Sacco.
A source on the board revealed that the recent operations and investments of national treasurer Ambrose Ogango are suspicious.

Chepkwony

Apart from Ogango, other board of directors are Anne Abwere (chairperson), Wilberforce Chebet (vice chairman), Eliud Chepkwony (chief executive officer), Harrison Katoni (national secretary), with James Keretai, Jonathan Mengich, Elijah Letangule, Phanice Etemere and Japson Gitonga serving as directors.
Members on the board are Henry Mayabi (chairman supervisory), Vicky Maiyo (secretary supervisory) and Harrison Tinga, a member of the supervisory team.
Also of concern is the acquisition of 19.2 acres of land next to Eldoret University that was highly inflated by Kalenjin faces running the Sacco although falling under housing cooperative. It is said that members of the board influenced relatives to purchase as non-members at the expense of some members of the board. Fear was spread among members that Eldoret was politically insecure area to invest thus siding outsiders.
One tender that is said to have split the management is the information system tender whose deadline was late last year. It involved supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the integrated Sacco’s management information system costing millions of shillings.
It is whispered that each powerful member on board and management was pushing for various firms to land the lucrative tender.
Three camps emerged before and after the tender that are still fighting up to now. The tender in question reference was captioned JSCS/3/Nov/2018.
