Brief; US Stock Market Closes Mixed

Major stocks in Wall Street closed Monday’s trading session mixed with the major indexes; Dow Jones Industrial Average closing unchanged, while the Nasdaq 100 and the S&P 500 recorded slight gains.

The Dow fell 0.10%, the Nasdaq 100 rose 1.02% while the S&P 500 was up 0.34%.

Tech giant Amazon Inc. announced on Monday it will hire 150,000 new employees to help the company run better for the forthcoming holiday or the so-called peak season.

The new staff will aid in picking, packing, and shipping orders at Amazon’s warehouses for an average starting pay of $18 an hour.

In September, the company revealed plans to hire additional 125,000 workers in the United States.
