The Wiper Democratic Movement Party led by Kalonzo Musyoka has vowed to move to court on Monday, May 16 seeking to withdraw from the Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya coalition.

Addressing the media on Sunday, Makueni Member of Parliament Dan Maanzo said Odinga was not keen on having Kalonzo be his running mate in the August elections.

“We have been negotiating for days now but Raila Odinga appears to be rigid and we have no options other than part ways,” Maanzo said after a church service in Wote on Sunday

Maanzo who is also the party’s lawyer expressed optimism the court will pronounce the current agreement illegal and unconstitutional.

He noted that the only reason Kalonzo shelved his presidential ambitions was so that he would be on the ballot as deputy president.

Kalonzo skipped Raila’s Azimio mega rally at Kamukunji, Nairobi, where Raila announced he will unveil his running mate at KICC on Monday, May 16 at 11 am.

Kalonzo is among the top contenders for the position. The committee of eminent persons chaired by former Cabinet Minister Noah Wekesa settled for Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua, former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth from a list of seven who were interviewed by the selection panel.
