Court Sessions Halted After Terror Scare

Operations at Thika Law Courts were on Wednesday, March 2, halted following a terror scare.

According to Stephen Mbugua, Secretary Law Society of Kenya, Thika Chapter, a security team was dispatched at the premises following the terror attack alert that was circulating in the morning hours.

Mbugua added that lawyers and anybody seeking or offering services at the law courts were evacuated even as precautionary measures were being observed.

“The terror attack explains the heavy presence of police from various departments in the station today. We wish to inform you that the security forces are handling the matter and all court sessions shall soon begin,” Mbugua pointed out.

This comes after the United States Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) had warned Kenyans flying in the airspace of a possible attack from the militia group, Al Shabaab.

The Authority affirmed that the terror group still poses a threat in crowded places such as the Kenyan airspace.

“Such weapons could target aircraft at low altitudes, including during the arrival and departure phases of flight, and/or target airports and aircraft on the ground, especially at airfields located east of 40 degrees east longitude,” their advisory stated.
