Covid-19: 81 Patients Recover as 16 More Test Positive

The Ministry of Health on Monday, 25th October, confirmed 16 new Covid-19 cases in 24 hours. This brings the country’s caseload to 252,688.

Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said in a statement that the cases were detected from 1,318 samples tested, raising the total to 2,675,023. The positivity rate is at 1.2 per cent.

From the cases, all 16 are Kenyans with nine being males and seven females. The youngest is a 20-year-old child while the oldest is 78.

Kagwe confirmed that 81 patients have recovered from the disease, 71 are from the home-Based Isolation and Care, while 10 are from various health facilities. This has increased to 246,355, the total number of recoveries.

The Covid-19 death toll rose to 5,260 after three more patients succumbed to the disease.
