Covid-19 Cases Increase By 124 as 6 More Succumb
The Ministry of Health has confirmed 124 new Covid-19 cases from 7,356 samples tested in the last 24 hours, bringing the country’s caseload to 252,499.

This has raised to 2,664,357 the cumulative number of samples tested since March 2019. The country’s positivity rate is at 1.7 per cent.

In a statement issued on Friday, 22nd October, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe announced that from the new cases, 112 are Kenyans while 12 are foreigners, with 68 being males and 56 females. The youngest is a two-year-old infant while the oldest is 97.

Some 80 patients have recovered from the disease, 12 were discharged from various hospitals, and 68 from home-based and isolation care, raising the total to 245,962.

The Covid-19 death toll rose to 5,249 after six more patients succumbed.
