Covid-19 Cases Increase By 255 as 7 More Succumb

The Ministry of Health has confirmed 255 new Covid-19 cases from 6,305 samples tested in the last 24 hours, bringing the country’s caseload to 248,770.

This has raised to 2,543,687 the cumulative number of samples tested since March 2019. The country’s positivity rate is at four per cent.

In a statement issued on Tuesday 28th September, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe announced that from the new cases, 249 are Kenyans while six are foreigners, with 138 being males and 117 females. The youngest is a four-year-old infant while the oldest is 91.

Some 508 patients have recovered from the disease, 50 were discharged from various hospitals, and 458 from home-based and isolation care, raising the total to 241,180.

The Covid-19 death toll rose to 5,116 after seven more patients succumbed.
