Covid-19 Cases Rise By 204 as 17 More Succumb

Kenya has recorded 1,166 new Covid-19 cases from 2,963 samples tested in the last 24 hours. This has raised the national tally to 243,929.

There have so far been 2,457,626 cumulative tests. The Covid-19 positivity rate stands at 6.9 per cent.

In a statement issued on Monday, 13th September, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe announced that from the new cases, 198 are Kenyans while six are foreigners with 102 being females and 102 males. The youngest is a six-month-old infant and the oldest is 99 years.

Kagwe said 984 patients had recovered from the disease with 466 from various health facilities countrywide while 518 are from home-based isolation and care. The total number of recoveries now stands at 233,902.

Some 17 more patients have succumbed to the virus, raising the death toll to 4,923.
