Covid-19 Positivity Rate at 1.8PC as 88 People Test Positive

The Ministry of Health has announced 88 new Covid-19 cases, raising the country’s caseload to 254,629.

In a statement issued on Friday, 19th November, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said the latest figure was derived from the 4,802 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

This brings to 2,790,474 the cumulative number of Covid-19 tests. The country’s positivity rate now stands at 1.8 per cent.

Of the new cases, 82 are Kenyans while six are foreigners, with 44 being males and 44 females. The youngest is a six-year-old baby, while the oldest is 86.

Kagwe said 57 patients had recovered from the disease, 35 from the home-based and isolation care programme, and 22 from various health facilities. The total number of recoveries is 247,874.

No deaths were reported. The countrywide Covid-19 death toll remains at 5,325.
