Covid-19 Positivity Rate Decline as 61 More People Test Positive

The Ministry of Health on Saturday 13th November announced 61 new Covid-19 cases from 5,525 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

This brings to 254,151 the total number of confirmed cases from the 2,757,038 tests done so far. The country’s positivity rate now stands at 1.1 per cent.

Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said in a statement that from the cases, 57 are Kenyans while four are foreigners; 36 being males while 25 are females. The youngest is a 12-year-old child while the oldest is 93 years old.
The national death toll remained at 5,525 as no patient succumbed to the virus..

A total of 59 patients have recovered from the disease with 43 from the Home-Based Isolation and Care program while 16 are from health facilities countrywide. The total number of recoveries now stands at 247,633

There are 390 patients are currently admitted to various health facilities across the country, while 1,038 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.

Some 27 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 13 of whom are on ventilatory support and 14 on supplemental oxygen. No patient is under observation.

Another 112 patients are separately on supplemental oxygen among them 110 who are in the general wards and two patients are in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).

The cases are distributed in counties as follows; Nairobi nine cases, Isiolo seven, Busia six, Kilifi, Kisii and Nakuru four cases each, Mombasa, Bomet and Embu three cases each, Machakos, Garissa, Kiambu, Marsabit and Baringo two cases each while Kisumu, Kitui, Kwale, Makueni, Migori, Kajiado, Kakamega and Kericho had one case each.
