Covid: Kenya’s positivity rate at 3.6% as 66 test positive – KBC

66 people have tested positive for Covid-19, from a sample size of 1,833 tested in the last 24 hours, pushing total confirmed positive cases in the country to 163,620.

Kenya’s positivity rate is at 3.6% while cumulative tests so far conducted stand at 1,721,122.

Out of the cases 65 are Kenyans while one is a foreigner.

45 are males and 21 are females with the youngest being a six-year old-child while the oldest is 81 years.

Distribution of positive cases by age is as follows; 0-9 years (3), 10-19 years (2), 20-29 years (11), 30-39 years (14), 40-49 years (9), 50-59 years (9), 60 and above (18).

12 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours bringing cumulative fatalities to 2,907.

One occurred on diverse dates within the last one month and 11 are late deaths reports after conducting facility record audits.

Cumulative deaths by age; 0-9 years (54), 10-19 years (20), 20 29 (103), 30-39 years (243), 40-49 years (375), 50-59 years (622), 60 years and above (1,490).

Total recoveries now stand at 112,298 after a total of 1,737 patients recovered from the disease, 1,580 are from the Home Based and Isolation Care, while 157 are from various health facilities countrywide.

Of the total recoveries, 82,138 are from Home Based Care and Isolation while 30,790 are from various health facilities.
